TikToker Remi Bader weight loss journey definitely had us glued on! But, was it worth it?
After months of anticipation from fans and media, TikTok influencer, Remi Bader finally opens up about her recent weight loss journey. In an interview with Self magazine, Remi admitted that she did go under surgery in December 2023. However, the surgery wasn’t just any other people undergo to lose weight fast.
As explained by her, Remi Bader weight loss journey was a result of a new surgery, called SADI-S. SADI-S or single anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass is a hybrid of two very popular weight loss surgeries- gastric bypass and gastric sleeves.
Based on her statement, Brigham and Women’s Hospital described that the surgery involves removing the outer portion of the stomach and connecting the upper small intestine to the loop of the lower small intestine. The surgery causes hormonal imbalance, reduced appetite, and slow metabolism.
Remi Bader On Weight Loss & Brutal Side Effects

Remi shared that the surgery was supposed to have no side effects. However, the effects were far from normal. What she must have thought was the best weight loss program, Remi said the effects were the most brutal.
In recovery, she spent several hours throwing up, which was not normal. She was to leave the hospital in a few hours. She stated, “I could not stop vomiting and couldn’t drink water.”
Three months later, she was still not okay. While she was discharged within 3 days of surgery, Remi Bader weight loss journey wasn’t actually easy. She continued to throw up every day after getting discharged. The weight loss program also affected her digestion.

Since the surgery, Remi has gained confidence. She also recently opened up about her insecurities. The influencer stated that she struggled with binge eating, which led to weight gain, back pain, chronic pain, and other health conditions. She also tried many medications for weight regulations, which never worked for her.
However, the influencer said she is doing better now in the recent Khloe Kardashian’s podcast. Since her surgery, she hasn’t had any back pain and has normal blood work results. Remi is also currently seeing a therapist to help her with her insecurities and binge-eating urges.

In the podcast, she shared that the urges for binge eating can be strong. However, she can’t eat that much, as the surgery removed 80% of her stomach. Plus, she can’t even drink and eat in the same 30 minutes. Else, she can get sick. She also shared that going out to dinner can also be hard sometimes as she ends up searching for the bathroom.
Lastly, Remi Bager also stated that she is still processing her weight loss. It can be confusing to shift to a whole new body with the same mind, she stated.
